Update on Summer Courses!

The places are finally being filled for the Art Course in Croom... looks like we have enough to go ahead but a few more would be nice!

A large portion of my work is problem solving in one form or another. I assist customers on a daily basis in person, by phone and email. I provide advice on a myriad of levels, on project ideas, materials and their application to name but a few.

Duties:

Prepare quotations, orders and invoices for our customer base: schools and colleges, local businesses and larger industry.

Stock control: managing stock levels and ordering stock.

Liase with company representatives, source new suppliers and new materials.

Process orders placed by phone, fax, in person or through e-mail and website. This involves - picking the order, readying order and organising dispatch and delivery to customer.

Window dressing and shop display. Putting my interior design skills to use to create attractive and eye catching seasonal displays.

Design and compile art and craft projects and leaflets to aid teachers and childcare providers.

Rubber stamp design for businesses and organisations.

Experience in Training & Facilitation

1: 2005 to date Crescent College Comprehensive, Dooradoyle, Limerick

Tutor in Art & Craft For Children: I deliver a ten-week course that I have designed and developed to assist parents, teachers and childcare providers with Art and Craft projects. The course allows the students gain the skills required to successfully complete projects in their classroom/home. I have designed and developed the curriculum over the years to maximise the benefits, such as the standard of skills that can be gained and how those skills can be passed on to their students. Also, producing projects on a budget and addressing Curricular Integration.

2: Tutor in Interior Design: I deliver a ten-week course that I have designed and developed to enlighten individuals in Interior design and all its facets. Structured so that students could prepare a portfolio to present should they wish to go on to a full time course as well as facilitating those who wish to apply the skills to their own homes. Topics addressed include colour studies, materials, decorating on a budget, room layouts and eco-building.

3: 2001 – 2004 Limerick Senior College

Tutor in Interior Design: A 10 week course that involved all the basics of Interior design and even incorporated aspects such as Colour Therapy and Feng Shui elements and their role in Interior Design.

Freelance Training & Facilitation

1: I have facilitated many Art and Craft classes over the years with various organisations:

The Girl Scouts, Ballinanty Family Resource Centre, St. Munchin’s Women’s Group, Our Lady of Lourdes Community Centre. I have also held private classes especially designed to suit individuals’ particular interests.

2: Oct 2010 Youth Advocate Programme Limerick

I worked as an Art Facilitator on a project addressing the participants’ identity in society. It was an exhilarating project that had remarkable outcomes. The participants learned how to address a brief, design their artwork and transfer their ideas on to canvas. Artwork is displayed in the YAP offices in Limerick.

3: 2007 to date: Limerick Childcare Committee:

Trainer in Art and Craft for Children. I work as a trainer in art and craft with childcare providers. I provide instruction on simple art and craft projects that are themed, as in Springtime, Summer, Halloween and Christmas.

Hobbies and Interests

I have a huge interest in Art and Design, be it Architecture, Interior Design, Photography etc.

I enjoy African drumming and aqua aerobics.
